About Us

Artistic Director

Mercedes Vamprine is a dance educator  and choreographer from Lake Charles, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts with a concentration in Dance and a minor in Theatre Technology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (2022).

While at ULL, Mercedes performed in An Evening of Dance and State of La Danse, beginning her sophomore year. By her junior year, she was already showcasing her choreographic voice, contributing original work to An Evening of Dance.

Mercedes expanded her training as an apprentice at the American Dance Festival at Duke University, where she studied Cunningham and Afro-fusion Modern Dance. She has continued developing her craft with leading companies including LA Contemporary Dance Company (Los Angeles), New Dialect (Nashville), and NobleMotion Dance (Midtown, TX), enriching both her movement vocabulary and creative approach.

As a teacher, Mercedes brings experience, artistry, and care to the classroom. She has taught Ballet and Modern Movement at Basin Arts and Bluebirds Ballet Academy in Lafayette, LA, and later joined Fusion Elite Dance Academy in New Iberia, where she instructed and choreographed in Ballet, Lyrical/Contemporary, and Creative Movement. Her classes reflect a deep commitment to student growth, expression, and confidence through dance.
